Tanjong Pagar MRT

Plus Code 7RGW+J8 Singapore

Tanjong Pagar Food Centre (7RGV+J6 Singapore): this is our go to place for Nasi Lemak from Xiang Xiang Nasi Lemak #02-08. They are open Wed-Sat 6am until sold out or 2pm which ever comes first. We also get our 'Michael Jackson' here which has a good price and good ratio between the soy milk and grass jelly.

We had duck rice and chicken rice here too and the flavors were good.

Dakota MRT

Old Airport Road Food Centre (8V5P+78 Singapore): Lots of good food in here. Lots of locals (I assume) stop by after work to 'ta pow' food for home. I liked the 'hor fun' from Hin Fried Hor Fun #01-163. The rojak from Toa Payoh Rojak #01-108 is also good. Not sure about the Nyonya Cendol here or the Nyonya Cendol at Whampoa Makan Place. The cendol at Old Amoy Cendol (Main) #02-008 at 335 Smith Street was better. The ice in the cendol at Malaysia Boleh at AMK Hub was softer/smoother but a small serving. The serving at Penang Savour (at Ang Mo Kio Central 1) was much better, but their ice was not as soft.

Toa Payoh MRT

Gourmet Paradise (8RJX+X5 Singapore): This is located in B1, one level below where the buses are. There is an escalator going downstairs. We liked the Mee Siam (from Sedap Nasi Padang stall) and the chicken rice (from Hainanese Chicken Rice, duh). Also the Rojak (right next to the escalator) is good and has a long queue.

There are also some food courts up at the second level.

Botanic Gardens MRT

Plus Code: 8RC7+WX Singapore

Adam Food Centre (8RF7+JJ Singapore): This is a cut little food centre supposedly with 9 sides. The nasi lemak was good here. The drinks stall was busy. Seems like this food centre is closed Saturdays and Sundays.

Newton MRT

Plus Code: 8R7Q+G6 Singapore

Newton Food Centre (8R6Q+QR Singapore): it seemed to us on our recent visit that there were the same foods in the different stalls around this food centre - satay, carrot cake, etc. When we ordered satay, the vendor went somewhere and later returned with our food. Is there a common grill place nearby? Skip the sugar cane here - they weren't very sugar cane-y.

Dhoby Ghaut MRT

Plus Code: 7RXW+H6 Singapore

Food nearby

Plaza Singapura: there's a Kopitiam on the upper floors with Hawker Chan Chicken Rice, an Economy Rice place, and various other delicacies. There's also a Five Guys Burger, Tim Ho Wan, Din Tai Fung, Haidilao, and others here.

Peace Centre is a bit of a hike at Selegie Road and Sophia Road, but right at that corner is a 24 hour Aladdin's Castle with pratha, dosai, biryani, and other enjoyable foods.

Parklane is just before Peace Centre with several food shops on the different levels.

Repurpose

Well, since I have this blog, I'm going to repurpose it after eight years. As the title indicates, this is an Infrequent blog.

I'm going to use this space for the time being to post and log places we sampled foods at in the immediate vicinity of MRT stations in Singapore.

Hope it's useful to someone.

Ha! after looking at what was written, I'm guessing that this is just a blog of random stuff, so, no need to repurpose.
